Arrowtown

Historic town located in the Southern Lakes region

Historic Arrowtown is a former gold mining town dating back to the 1860's.  With 4 distinct seasons, spectacular scenery and numerous activities, plus a fantastic choice of cafes, restaurants and shops, Arrowtown is must see destination.

Arrowtown developed as a result of the gold rush in 1862 and many of the buildings in town either date back to that era or have been built to reflect the historic nature of the town.  Today the town is a popular destination for both New Zealanders and overseas travellers.

Situated next to the Arrow River, the town is a scenic 20 minute drive from the bustling adventure capital of Queenstown.  If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay after a busy day, then Arrowtown is the place for you.
